Dr. Hector Alatriste-Leon

Editor and Writer

I am a writer at Brainbeats. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, followed by a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and I am currently conducting research at Rutgers University in the United States. My professional interest lies in understanding the brain’s flexibility to learn new things.

Through my research, I have developed behavioral tasks to evaluate cognition, measured neural activity related to learning, and studied diseases that affect the brain. I’ve had the privilege of presenting my work at national and international conferences and publishing my findings in scientific journals.

As a child, reading science magazines inspired me to pursue a career in research, an endeavor I believe is essential for advancing knowledge. Today, my goal is to share that inspiration with others and inform them about groundbreaking advancements in neuroscience and beyond.
